Laura writes a great website called Sew for Victory and she has an interest in sewing and well being but wanted more concrete evidence about the link between crafting and well being. Drawing together some of her own research she talks about how there is a definite link but some things to consider as well if you don't want your hobby to become another source of stress. Great article and I couldn't help having a look all around the website once I'd finished reading. Click here to read the article.

Just found this great website but it says it's closing down! Hopefully the pages that they've made will still be there. It is a website focused on sewing being an inclusive and open hobby for anyone and everyone! I loved it. They had fun themed months for projects and welcomed contributions from everyone! Check it out anyway! I was able to follow their Instagram page from the website.

2. Spending time away from your smart devices to prevent sensory overload
3. Being mindful
4. Accomplishing something

A super article looking at how sewing can support your mental health. Clare Hunter writes about how sewing has supported people in very difficult situations such as shell-shocked soldiers from the First World War. She described how embroidery has supported her through life's traumas. Click here to read the article.

I was given The Mindful Maker for my birthday. Not a book I would have bought myself but it was brilliant and I couldn't stop trying things in it. I sat in front of the TV just sewing and relaxing. It was great. I can't recommend this book enough. You can find it on Amazon (and I'm sure plenty of other places).
